Hello! My name is Forest, and I am the creator of Together By Nature…

My journey to plants and nature began at a young age. I spent most of my childhood outside and have fond memories foraging for elderflower and blackberries, following butterflies, gathering caterpillars, tadpoles and tiny frogs for closer examination.

As a child and in my adolescence my mother would take me and our dogs out for long walks in the countryside which I have so many fond memories of. I spent a lot of time at my Aunt and Uncles farm in Kent where I have been and continue to be immersed in the outdoors from morning until dusk there. The meadows and woodlands really feels like home.

At home my mother always treated any minor illnesses and ailments homoeopathically, which nurtured my love for herbal medicine, using plants to heal the body. So, in 2022 I studied a Foundation course in Herbal Medicine at Heartwood and which deepened my fascination with the world of plants, specifically broadening my understanding of our common plants in the UK. With a basic understanding of herbalism and an ever-growing knowledge of foraging, I combine these interests with my work in clay, merging wild plants and pottery.

Each piece is unique, hand crafted by me in my studio outside of Wye.

Inspired by the changing seasons I gather wild plants from my local surroundings and imprint them into clay, crafting tableware and decorative pieces. Each showcasing the natural beauty of our local plants through organic shapes, earthy tones and gentle curves.

I learnt all that I know from a dear friend, Nadine at Homefolk Ceramics who I am deeply grateful to, she is an exceptional teacher and now an amazing friend. You need people in your life who really nurture your passion and make it feel possible! Thank you for visiting my page. I hope that you love using the work that I make in your every day life and it brings you moments of joy, as much as it has given me joy in creating.
