Folklore
Nettle has long been associated with transformation, resilience, and spiritual insight. In Welsh folklore, placing a nettle leaf under a sick person’s pillow was believed to predict their fate.
Medicinal
Nettle has been traditionally used to support circulation, ease joint pain, and boost overall vitality. Rich in vitamins and minerals, it is known for its ability to strengthen the immune system, reduce inflammation, and support kidney and liver function.
Time of Year
March - October
Nettle begins to emerge in early spring, with its nutrient-rich leaves at their most tender before flowering. It continues to grow throughout summer, with tiny greenish flowers appearing in the warmer months, before dying back in late autumn.
